1. Objectives of ASIA FOUNDATION are as follows:

(c) The objectives for which the society is established are:

The name of our society 'Asia Foundation' itself is an implication of enhancement, development and achievement of total work-culture of the society so as to keep the regional cultural educational & socio-economic development & promotion in pace with the Asian regional cultural educational & socio-economic co-operation as well as globalization. It is a non-political and non-government socio-cultural economic and educational organization.

The advent of globalization and liberalization of Indian economy opened much larger avenues for the fittest one in the job market and the Total Quality Management (TQM) has become a Corporate-Mantra. A great majority of people in developing Nations like India in general and North East India in particular having lack of awareness, lack of technical skill/training and necessary resources are still resorting to the old ideas, approach, strategy and work-culture not suited with the fast changing scenario of the present competitive world.

Keeping in view the long-standing setback of work-culture of different sections of people of our society, the organization, shall make utmost effort to create an atmosphere of work-culture in our society so as to enable us to fit for and adjust and compete with the globalize world. For this purpose, it aims at accelerating all round socio-economic-cultural and educational development of the society with a focus on unemployment issues also so that preservation & promotion of culture & civilization in all respects should be possible in a wider way.

Realizing its growing importance the society shall set out the following objects:

(i) To encourage and create an environment of a fertile field of work-culture of the masses through its time bound plan and awareness programmed of multifarious activities.
(ii) To work for encouraging the sense of discipline, punctuality, dignity of labor and humanitarian values in order to check the growing rate of unemployment, under-employment and different forms of violence, intolerance and violation of statutory rules and regulations.
(iii) To bring sense of unity and integrity among various classes of people so as to remove caste barriers in the path of economic development of North East India in general and of Assam in particular through cultural integration.
(iv) To promote self-employment and income-generating activities through need based job oriented vocational/technical training or education among the poor and down-trodden people not only to solve the problems of poverty, over-population, disease and unemployment within the frame work of our culture but also to adjust our self to the rhythm of the new world of globalization by strengthening the moral fiber of the nation, keeping in mind humanism of our arts and rationalism of our science;
(v) To work for universalisation of primary education with a special focus on low-literacy percents and on the educationally backward communities with the goal of raising educational status and quality of life of them;
(vi) To foster and encourage education and studies amongst women, adults and children of the poor and downtrodden for building adequate linkages between literacy and other developmental process.
(vii) To work for the welfare of (a) women and children, (b) orphan, beggar and destitute, (c) physically handicapped boys and girls and for (d) educationally and socially backward communities.
(viii) To guide, initiate and devote to research oriented studies in history, education science and socio-economic, demographic, cultural, religious and literary field of society.
(ix) To protect, preserve and develop cultural heritage of Himalayas, folk art, culture and folk literature of the state of Assam in particular and of the N.E. Region in general;
(x) To upgrade the traditional skills and equip them with modern technology so as to meet the market demands;
(xi) To involve in the promotion of small and lift irrigation projects, especially in the drought prone, dry and hilly areas to ensure food security in the village level;
(xii) To work for food processing & preservation, environment preservation, restoration, plantation of trees and floriculture and nursery.
(xiii) To strive for providing drinking water facilities and sanitation programmes with govt. and non-govt. assistance to the rural and urban poor and downtrodden people.
(xiv) To promote sanitation and hygiene and arrangement for free medical aid to the poor needy and make them aware about HIV, Hepatitis's and other diseases along with old age care.
(xv) To empower the women and the socially deprived and disadvantaged Groups with a three-pronged strategy: (a) Social Empowerment, (b) Economic Empowerment and (c) Social Justice as the agent of social change and development;
(xvi) To help the poor to adopt modern poultry, duckery, piggery, diary and other agri-allied activities.
(xvii) To construct, open and run educational, social, cultural, vocational, technical, and economic institutions and training centers for the poor and educationally as well as economically backward sections of the society.
